Australia is the world's sixth largest country, measuring 4000 kilometres (2500 miles) from east to west and 3200 kilometres (2000 miles) from north to south. It has a population of more than 20 million people who have settled mainly around the coastal strip.
Australia is a land of contrasts and diversity. Its landscape ranges from desert and bushland in the central areas, to rainforest in the North, to snowfields in the South East.
We live in a tolerant, multicultural society with people from many different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Nearly a quarter of Australia's population was born overseas. Almost one in every five Australians come from a non-English speaking background and more than 200 different languages are spoken. The official language is English.
There are six states (Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia) and two territories (the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory).
The Sunshine Coast provides students with the perfect study and living environment. We are located in the centre of the region, and our students have easy access to all the Sunshine Coast has to offer. The Sunshine Coast is the perfect mix of coast and country and the ideal place to study and also relax and unwind on the weekends.
